Adopt A Boxer
Adoptable Boxers
Every Boxer in our care has a story, along with plenty of wiggles, slobbery kisses, and heart to give. Maybe it’s Cash, who flashes a crooked grin and steals socks like a pro, or Olive, our agility champ who believes every visitor is her new best friend. At Boxer Rebound, we’re not just introducing dogs. We’re helping you meet your next family member. Take a peek below to see who might be waiting just for you.
At our rescue, we have a long-standing policy of not placing dogs of the same sex together in adoptive homes. While there are always exceptions to every rule, we’ve found through years of experience that same-sex pairings—especially female-female or male-male—can lead to tension, competition, and conflict down the line, even if things start off smoothly. Our goal is always to set both the dog and the adoptive family up for long-term success, and opposite-sex placements tend to offer the best chance for harmony and balance in the home.

Adoption Process
Bringing a Boxer into your life is a big decision, and we’re here to help make it a joyful one. Our adoption process is designed to ensure each dog finds the right match and each family finds the right companion. Whether you're new to the breed or a seasoned Boxer lover, we’ll walk you through every step so you feel confident, supported, and excited to welcome your new best friend home.
1) Fill Out an Application
Start by completing our adoption application. It gives us a sense of your lifestyle, your home, and what kind of companion you're hoping to find.
2) Phone Interview
Once we’ve reviewed your application, a volunteer will call to talk through your answers and learn more about your experience with dogs.
3) Meet the Boxer or Boxers
You'll be invited to meet one or more dogs we think could be a good match. Each Boxer has their own story and personality, and we'll help guide you toward a great fit.
4) Introduce Your Resident Pets
If you have a dog or cat at home, we’ll schedule an introduction to see how they get along. In some cases, we may recommend a second visit to make sure it’s the right match for everyone.
5) Home Visit
There may be times a volunteer will visit your home to ensure its safety and appropriate space for a boxer. This is a supportive step in the process, not an inspection
6) Welcome Your New Family Member
If everything feels right, we’ll move forward with the adoption. You’ll sign the paperwork and officially bring your Boxer home.
!! Important Information !!
We require securely fenced yards for the majority of our Boxers. Quality name brand underground fences are acceptable for most of our boxers. We seldom place our dogs in apartments, condos or townhomes. Exceptions may be made when we feel we have Boxers suitable for those environments.
Our adoption contract has a provision requiring that the adopted Boxer be returned to us should the adoption prove unsuccessful for any reason. Adopted Boxers may not be transferred to any other party.
Several visits may be required before dogs are released, particularly when there are children, other dogs and/or cats in the household. Precautions are always taken to ensure compatibility with children and pets. All immediate family members are expected to meet with the chosen Boxer before the dog goes home. Where there is another dog in the household, introductions are performed at our facility, usually on the second visit. Where there is a cat in the household, we will cat-test the dog.
