The Adoption Process

People seeking to adopt a boxer are referred to us by veterinarians, boxer breeders, others who have adopted from us, and other rescue facilities. We have a booth every year at the Chicagoland Pet Fair and occasionally other pet events. Our Web Site provides us with an increasing number of applicants.

All applicants are carefully screened to determine whether they will provide a suitable environment and proper care for one of our boxers. Interviews are by appointment only. Often, several visits are required before dogs are released, particularly if there are children and/or other dogs in the household. Precautions are always taken to ensure that dogs are compatible with each other and/or children. All immediate family members are expected to meet with the chosen boxer before the dog goes home. Where there is another dog in the family, introductions are always performed at our facility. Every effort possible is made to guarantee a good match.
