SURRENDERING YOUR BOXER

All our dogs are housed in our kennel facility where we consistently maintain a population of 40 - 50 rescued Boxers. Space is limited but due to the popularity of the Breed and the large number of homeless Boxers, the demand for space is increasingly high. Priority for space is reserved for those dogs determined by us to be most in need. If you are considering surrendering your Boxer to Boxer Rebound, please complete the SURRENDER FORM. You will receive a response as soon as possible. If your reason for surrendering your Boxer is a health or behavior issue, please indicate on the form in the space provided your willingness to accept advice from us that may allow you to keep your dog. We have extensive experience in dealing with all health and behavior problems associated with Boxers.

We do not take mixed-breed dogs. Due to the fact that many dogs are mistakenly identified as Boxers, please send a photo of the dog you wish to surrender to vicki@boxerrebound.com as well as the Surrender Form. Your response will come from a different email address. You will not receive a response if your email software is set up to reject messages from unknown senders.

The Surrender Process

Though it is not a condition of acceptance, owners are expected to contribute financially towards the dogs care*. Transportation of the dog to our facility is the responsibility of the owner. You will be asked to sign a Surrender Agreement relinquishing all rights regarding the dog to Boxer Rebound, Inc. whereupon ownership of the dog is transferred to our organization. Once in our care the dog will be evaluated as to health, temperament, and behavior. It will be spayed/neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, started on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. Any outstanding health or behavior issues will be addressed before placing the dog up for adoption.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT BOXERS FROM OUTSIDE OUR OPERATING AREA WHICH IS PRIMARILY NORTHERN IL & INCLUDES THE CHICAGOLAND AREA AND SURROUNDING SUBURBS

*This means that we would appreciate a donation at the time of surrender, not that owners are expected to finance the dogs care until it is adopted.
