lt bulb button.gif (1394 bytes)Boxer Rebound is located in Ringwood, IL in McHenry County near the WI border. Our operating area encompasses Northeast IL, including Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, extreme Southeast WI, and extreme Northwest IN. We do not place dogs outside of our operating area.  We work with all legitimate boxer rescue organizations whose operating areas are adjacent to or overlap ours.   Back to FAQs

lt bulb button.gif (1394 bytes)Specific requirements for adoptions are based on the individual needs of each dog. Generally, we place our boxers in homes that offer a stable, safe environment with a secure exercise area. We seldom place boxers in apartments, townhomes or condos: most boxers, especially younger dogs, require more exercise than confined living spaces allow. Exceptions are made whenever we feel we might have a dog that would adapt well to that lifestyle. Back to FAQs

lt bulb button.gif (1394 bytes)Print and fill out an Adoption Application from this site and send it to the address listed. When we receive it someone will call as soon as possible to answer questions and discuss adoption. If it is mutually agreeable, an appointment to visit will be scheduled.  Visits are by appointment only. It is not necessary to send the $25.00 visit fee with the application. The fee is payable during the first visit.Back to FAQs

lt bulb button.gif (1394 bytes)On arrival at our facility you will first meet with one of our representatives to discuss your expectations and preferences in a dog. You will then be shown photos of available boxers from which to choose those you'd like to meet. We will make suggestions based on your particular lifestyle and situation. You may meet a number of suitable dogs individually in our training building where they can usually be off leash  and able to interact freely. Everyone in your household or who will have extensive contact with a dog must participate. It is not necessary to make a decision on the spot. We ask all prospective adopters to consider their decision at least overnight. If you already have a dog/dogs at home, they will be introduced after you have chosen the one/ones you like best. This usually occurs during a second visit. Resident "volunteer cats" are used to cat-test dogs being considered for homes with cats. Back to FAQs

lt bulb button.gif (1394 bytes)All e-mail correspondence is handled by Vicki from her home, not our facility.   Questions about specific dogs regarding age, size, housebreaking status, etc. cannot always be accurately answered via e-mail, therefore we prefer to address these questions and concerns by phone after we have received your application to adopt.  Our population changes often as dogs go to new homes and others take their places. The web site is updated regularly but  any dog's availability may change before you are able to arrange to visit it. Please send an application if you are interested in adopting a boxer: your questions may be asked when we call to schedule an appointment to visit. Back to FAQs

lt bulb button.gif (1394 bytes)Regretfully, we cannot accommodate casual visitors. Time constraints dictate that we confine visitors to those sincerely interested in providing a home for one of our boxers. Back to FAQs
